Just a reminder – All cell phones must BE OFF and NOT VISIBLE during the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:40 p.m. Students use of cell phones during this time will result in Saturday School.
Football tickets for our HOME football game will be sold during all lunches Friday. Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for adults. All tickets are $7 at the gate. Tickets are sold in the cafeteria for all home games.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be having a meeting every Friday morning in the auditorium starting this Friday morning. Come for music and an awesome speaker. Chic-fil-a biscuits will be sold staring at 7:15 for $2.00. The music will start at 7:30.
The first meeting of the Science Club will be on Wednesday, September 8th at 3:45 in F123. All students at Roswell High are welcomed and encouraged to come.
The RHS Young Adult Club will have its first meeting on Thursday afternoon at 3:55 in D110. If you signed up at the club fair or you’re curious, plan on attending. We’ll be discussing our reading selections for the year and introducing officers.
Students! Vote for your favorite spiritwear designs. There will be a poster and voting box in the cafeteria during all lunches. Vote for your favorite design for tee shirts and hoodies.
Attention Seniors: Senior Ad forms have been mailed. If you need another form, you may pick up an extra in the front office. Please also note that the “Early Bird” deadline has been extended until Friday September 9th.
There will be a SADD meeting next Tuesday the 14th at 8:00in D107.
The Step Team is holding try-outs next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday afternoon in Room G111 beginning at 3:45. Make sure to wear sneakers or you may not try out.
Any student who is interested in working with the football teams as a student trainer or manager needs to see Ms. Williams in the front office.
The Roswell High Chapter of the National Math Honors Society will hold its first meeting this Thursday, September 17, at 7:30 am in Room G108. To be eligible, you must have completed Math 1. You also must be in an honors math class, and have an overall high school math average of 85. All interested parties are welcome and should see Mr. O’Dell with questions.
The Roswell Dance Team will be holding tryouts for the 2010 – 2011 season over the next two weeks. If you are interested in becoming a member of the team, please see Ms. Schumann in G112 for more information.
Anyone interested in trying out for the RHS Rifle Team needs to meet in PRT 7 today and tomorrow after school.
The first meeting for Second Wind Dreams will be on Thursday, September 9th at 8:00 in H104. Second Wind Dreams is a service organization that matches young people with senior citizens in their community. We are open to all students at Roswell. We hope to see you this Thursday.
Junior Class Ring orders will be taken today September 8th during lunch and after school until 6:30pm in the gym Lobby and Thursday September 9th during lunch and after school until 6:30pm in the gym lobby. Don’t forget your order form and deposit.
The school is looking for announcers for the new season of Hornet football. Games are broadcast over Roswell cable, and also streamed live on the internet to the world. Auditions will be held next Tuesday after school in Room AA21. If you have questions see Mr. Scott in AA21.
Have you always wanted to see what it’s like to be a DJ on a radio station? Well, now is your chance. The WRHS The Hive is having their first meeting next Wednesday at 8:00am in Room AA21. If you are interested please come and join us.
School picture retakes will be October 14th. This will also be the last call for seniors that have not had their senior picture made by Studio 7 and would like to be in the yearbook. If you would like to have your Senior Portrait taken you need to contact Studio 7 at 770-685-7391.
Our Open House for parents will be held September 27th at 6:30 pm. This is a great opportunity for parents to follow your student’s schedule and spend time in their class with the teacher.
Attention Juniors and Seniors: Several colleges have scheduled visits to Roswell this semester. These visits are a great opportunity for interested students to learn more about prospective colleges.
• Representatives from Mercer University and Samford University will be at Roswell next week. Juniors and Seniors interested in learning more about these schools should sign up in the Guidance Office. Students must sign up by Friday, September 3rd for Mercer and by Wednesday, September 8th for the Samford visit.
• On Thursday, September 9th Georgia Gwinnett College will be available during lunch in the cafeteria to speak with interested students.

Not sure if you should take the SAT or ACT? The Roswell Guidance Department has partnered with The Princeton Review, a national leader in test preparation, to offer the Princeton Review Assessment (PRA). The PRA is a test designed to help students determine if they would score higher on the SAT or ACT. All students receive a detailed score report outlining their strengths and weakness on the SAT and ACT. The PRA will be offered Saturday September 25th, from 9 – 1:15 for $20. The Roswell High School Literary Magazine is now accepting creative work by students to be included in our fall issue. Bring your original stories, photographs, nonfiction, artwork, and poems to D105.The deadline for submissions is October 1.

Congratulations to the Varsity Softball Team on their 3rd region win vs Northview last night. The Lady Hornets square off against rival Milton Thursday night. Come to Milton to support the Lady Hornet Fastpitch team.
Please come out and support our Freshman and Junior Varsity volleyball teams tonight at 5:00pm in the gym. Concession stand will be open after school.
For all Boys interested in playing Soccer in the Spring there is a mandatory Player/Parent meeting this Thursday night at 6:00 pm in the media center. All new and returning players need to attend.
There is a meeting for all Girls interested in playing soccer for RHS this year on Thursday, September 9th at 7pm in the cafeteria. You and a parent or guardian need to attend this meeting. For more information, see Coach Boyd in PRT 10.
